‖ skandalon Theol.|ˈskændəlɒn| Also scandalon. [Gr. σκάνδαλον stumbling-block; cf. I Cor. i. 23 Χριστὸν ἐσταυρωµένον, Ἰουδαίοις µεν σκάνδαλον Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling-block.] A stumbling-block, cause of offence, scandal (sense 1 b).
