1. Having a slot or slots. spec. in Aeronaut.: cf. slot n.2 2 d. Also, slotted armature (Electr. Engin.), an armature having slots or grooves to contain the conductors; a slot-wound armature; slotted line, a length of coaxial cable or wave guide having a slot running lengthwise in its outer conductor to receive a probe for investigating standing waves.
