1692L'Estrange Fables (1694) 397 If there had been but a Snick-up in the case, you'd have cry'd ‘The Lord bless ye Sir’. 1879N. & Q. 5th Ser. XII. 45/2 The turkeys in his neighbourhood [Essex] were dying very much this season of the ‘snickups’. By this he meant a kind of sneezing fit.
