1523Fitzherb. Bk. Surv. 9 b, To the cornemilnes..belongeth Socone, that is to saye, custome of the tenauntes to grynde their corne at the lordes mylne. That maner of grynding is called loue Socone, and the lordes tenauntes be called bonde socon. 1607J. Norden Surv.
