soda-water Also soda water. [f. soda1 + water n.] 1. a. Water containing a solution of sodium bicarbonate, or, more generally, charged under pressure with carbon dioxide (carbonic acid gas), strongly effervescent, and used as a beverage or stimulant. Cf. soda1 4.
