abdominizer, n. Brit. |abˈdɒmɪnʌɪzə|, |əbˈdɒmɪnʌɪzə|, U.S. |æbˈdɑməˌnaɪzər|, |æbˈdɑməˌnaɪzər| Forms: 19– abdominiser, 19– abdominizer [Also with capital initial.] [‹ abdomin- (in either abdominal adj. or abdominal n.) + -izer suffix.] Originally with capital initial: a piece of exercise apparatus on which the user lies supine and rocks backwards and forwards, flexing the abdominal muscles. Later also more generally: any of various different types of apparatus designed to exercise the abdominal muscles.
