‖ coracosteon Zool.|kɒrəˈkɒstiːən| [mod.L., f. Gr. κορακο- raven + ὀστέον bone.] A term applied to an additional symmetrical osseous centre formed in the sternum in certain birds. Hence coraˈcosteal a., as in coracosteal ossification.
