priderite Min.|ˈpraɪdəraɪt| [f. the name of R. T. Prider, 20th-c. Australian geologist, who made a study of the suite of rocks from which the first identified sample was taken: see -ite1.] A lustrous black titanate of potassium and barium that is optically similar to rutile and occurs as rectangular prisms and plates.
