Cowley Father|ˈkaʊlɪ| [Name of a village near Oxford (now a suburb) + father n. 6 b.] A priest of the Anglican order of the Society of Mission Priests of St. John the Evangelist, founded in Oxford in 1865 by the Rev. R. M. Benson (1824–1915).
