sphenethmoid, n. and a. Zool.|sfɪˈnɛθmɔɪd| [f. Gr. σϕήν wedge (cf. spheno-) + ethmoid.] One of the cranial bones in batrachians, situated at the base of the skull; the girdle bone. Also sphenethmoid bone.
