ˈsplachnoid, a. Bot. [f. mod.L. Splachn-um (Linnæus), ad. Gr. σπλάγχνον (Dioscorides), some moss or lichen.] Characteristic of, related to, Splachnum, a genus of mosses of elegant form and colour.
