splendent, a.|ˈsplɛndənt| [a. L. splendent-, splendens, pres. pple. of splendēre to be bright or shining. So It. splendente, -iente, Sp. and Pg. esplendente, OF. esplendent.] 1. Shining brightly by virtue of inherent light.
