sporran|ˈspɒrən| Also sporan. [a. Sc. Gael. sporan, Ir. sparán purse.] A pouch or large purse made of skin, usually with the hair left on and with ornamental tassels, etc., worn in front of the kilt by Scottish Highlanders.
