sportswoman|ˈspɔətswʊmən| [f. sport n.1] a. A woman who follows or practises, is addicted to or interested in, sport, esp. field-sport. Also transf. in recent use, a woman who displays the typical good qualities of a sportswoman. Cf. note at sportsman 1 a.
