dacryo- combining form of Gr. δάκρυον tear, as in ˌdacryoadeˈnalgia [ad. G. dacryoadenalgie (J. A. Schmidt Über die Krankheiten des Thränenorgans (1803) i. ii. 117)], pain in a lachrymal gland; ˌdacryoadeˈnitis,inflammation of a lachrymal gland; ˌdacryocyˈstitis, inflammation of a tear-sac.
