darapskite, n. Min. Brit. |ˈdarəpskʌɪt|, |dəˈrapskʌɪt|, U.S. |ˈdærəpˌskaɪt|, |dəˈræpˌskaɪt| [‹ the name of Ludwig Darapsky (b. 1857), Chilean chemist and mineralogist + -ite suffix1, after German Darapskit (A. Dietze 1891, in Zeitschr. f. Kristallogr. u. Mineral. 19 447).] A colourless or white mineral of the monoclinic crystal system which is a double nitrate and sulphate of sodium, Na3(NO3)(SO4)·H2O, occurring as prismatic and tabular crystals in nitrate and saline deposits.
