stannator|stæˈneɪtə(r)| [ad. med.L. stannātor (stagnātor 1198 in G. R. Lewis Stannaries App. 233) irreg. f. late L. stannum (stagnum) tin.] A member of the Stannary convocation or parliament.

No. 3951/1 Her Majesty having been pleased to grant Her Commission to the Rt. Hon. the Lord Granville, Lord Warden of the Stannaries, to hold a Convocation, or Parliament of Stannators, according to ancient Custom. 1877Encycl. Brit. VI. 426/1 Twenty-four stannators were returned for the whole of Cornwall. Their meeting was termed a parliament, and when they assembled they chose a speaker. |
