ramie|ˈræmiː| Also ramee, rami (rami). [Malay rāmī.] a. A Chinese and East Indian plant of the nettle family, Bœhmeria nivea, called also rhea and grass-cloth plant. b. The fine fibre of this plant, extensively employed in weaving.
