de Broglie|də ˈbrəʊljiː| The name of L. V. de Broglie (born 1892), French physicist, used attrib., esp. in de Broglie wave, the wave which in wave mechanics is taken as accounting for or representing the wave-like properties of a material particle, esp. an elementary particle.
