1. An occupation, trade, or profession: "This fidelity to the ancient mode of instrument production remains the test of excellence, and I know no other métier of which this can be said" (Nicholas Delbanco).
2. Work or activity for which a person is particularly suited; one's specialty: That actor's métier is broad, slapstick comedy.
