Starting at sunrise yesterday, a vast crowd began chanting hymns and immersing themselves in the river's sacred but highly polluted waters.

It consists mainly of chanted hymns in rhythm with instruments such as cymbals (hand and large size) and the triangle.

Instead of the ritual being done quietly, it takes place publicly, with the congregation assembled and the choir chanting hymns.

The group walked about the streets chanting hymns, preached to those who would listen and ate what the people gave to them, sharing it with the poor.
