Eventually the ground cooled to a point when invisible water vapour in the air condensed into dew drops on the cold surface of the ground.

The ideal conditions are bright sunny mornings after clear, chilly nights, when the ground has cooled down enough for dew drops to form.

The dew drops also need to be plump and round — spiders' webs are ideal because their fine gossamer tends to make dew drops stand up into rounder shapes.

Spiders' webs seem to be festooned everywhere at the moment, lit up in twinkling displays in the early-morning sunshine when dew drops hang off the silky threads like bright pearls.

On the opposite wall, there are fragile dew drops which slither down soft petals.

There's more moisture in the air and whenever you get a heavy dew glistening on a spider's web it accentuates them.

And with the cold nights and calm air come autumnal mists and fogs forming in sheltered areas, with plenty of heavy dew on the ground.

The crackle of bonfires, the smell of wood smoke, longer nights and heavy dew in the morning.

On cold nights the ground cools down and moisture condenses into heavy dew on the ground.

Heavy dew or extended periods of misty weather are particularly favorable.
