Birds of the forest fringe are common, as are whiptail wallabies.

It lives among leaf litter on the forest floor in lowland areas of primary rainforest, in secondary rainforest and along the forest fringe.

The problem was further multiplied due to growing unemployment in the forest fringe villagers and lack of enough resources in the rural areas to tide over the situation.

Servals also avoid dense equatorial jungles, although they may be found along forest fringes.

The habitat consists of forest fringes, wide forest clearings and fringes of shrub-land on rocky soils at altitudes ranging from the lowlands to 1,400 meters above sea-level.
