Etymology: < central adj. + African n., in later use (after its formation in 1960) often after the name of the Central African Republic (French République Centrafricaine, Sango Ködörösêse tî Bêafrîka).
A. n.
A native or inhabitant of the central parts of Africa; (in later use also) spec. a native or inhabitant of the Central African Republic. Central Africa is now usually considered to extend from Chad to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
