Of a mammal: pregnant (also more fully full of foal, calf,etc.). Of a fish: filled with roe or milt.

Of a fish: carrying roe; full of spawn. Chiefly as the second element in compounds, as full-roed, hard-roed, soft-roed.

Of a fish, insect, etc.: ready to lay eggs or release sperm.
