Origin: A borrowing from Romani. Etymon: Romani čai.
Etymology: < Romani čai female Romani child, unmarried Romani female, feminine equivalent of čavo male Romani child, unmarried Romani male (see chav n.). Compare Romany chai n.
Now rare.
A Romani girl or woman. Cf. chal n.
