单词 cinnamon
释义

cinnamonn.

Brit. /ˈsɪnəmən/, U.S. /ˈsɪnəmən/
Forms: Middle English synamom(e, cynamone, Middle English–1500s sinamome, cynamum, Middle English–1600s cynamome, 1500s cinamom(e, cinnamum, cino-, cynomome, sinamon, synnimone ( synemond, synemont), 1500s–1600s cynamom, syn-, cynamon, 1500s–1700s cinamon, 1600s cinnamom, cinnamun, sinnomon ( sinnomond, cynament, cina-, synamond), 1600s– cinnamon.
Etymology: < French cinnamome, also in 16th cent. cinamonde, < Latin cinnamōmum, < Greek κιννάμωμον. There was also a later Greek κίνναμον, whence Latin cinnamon, cinnamum, to which the current English form is, at least in part, due. The Greek was of Semitic origin = Hebrew qinnāmōn, cinnamon.
