slang (originally U.S.).
A man noted for his sexual prowess, or for his promiscuity or success in getting sexual partners; an exceptionally virile or sexually accomplished man.The work cited in quot. 1927 attributes the poem from which the quoted text comes, Lady Lil, to U.S. journalist Eugene Field (1850–95) which may indicate earlier currency of this word; however this attribution is not certain.
