Etymology: < Spanish agrupación group (1884 or earlier) < agrupar to group (early 19th cent.; < a- (compare a- prefix5) + grupo group n.; compare aggroup v.) + -ación -ation suffix.

An association or grouping, esp. a political organization; an affiliation formed on the basis of common interests or objectives.Now often used in the names of such organizations.
