Etymology: < post-classical Latin agminatus (1740 or earlier) < classical Latin agmin- , agmen troop (see agminal adj.) + -ātus -ate suffix2. Compare classical Latin agminātim (adverb) in hosts or hordes (2nd cent. a.d. in Apuleius). Compare earlier agminated adj.
