1958 St. Joseph (Missouri) News-Press 1 Dec. 4/2 (caption) Don Neumann..will try the new kind of trap he is holding. It's called a Conibear. The trap, spring powered, is supposed to be the most humane ever devised since it quickly kills the animal caught without damage to the pelt.
2018 Orangeville (Ont.) Banner (Nexis) 19 Nov. (Final ed.) 1 My understanding of a conibear is it is a kill trap. It is not meant to hold an animal.
