Origin: Probably formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: contemporaneous adj., -ity suffix.
Etymology: Probably < contemporaneous adj. (although this is first attested slightly later) + -ity suffix; compare -eity suffix.With sense 1 compare post-classical Latin contemporaneitas (1629 or earlier). The β. forms show remodelling after co- prefix.
