释义 | † cornettin. Obsolete. A movement performed in classical horse riding, in which the horse leaps without moving forwards, while keeping its front and hind legs together and bringing them beneath itself. Cf. cornet n.1 15. ΚΠ 1669 J. Blagrave Epitome Art of Husbandry 294 The difference betwixt these two is, that the Capriole or Goats-leap is always in going forwards, and the Cornetti still in one place...The Cornetti may in some sort resemble the dancing of a Bear at a stake; for when he danceth and pranceth up and down in one place, lifting his fore-feet even and just together..bowing the Hams of his hinder Legs, as if he would sit or slide on his Buttocks. 1823 Sporting Mag. Mar. 331/2 That any advantage could be gained by teaching a horse..to dance a Capriole or a Cornetti, I never could bring myself to imagine. 1825 J. C. Loudon Encycl.
