Origin: A borrowing from French. Etymon: French costumier.
Etymology: < French costumier (1775 or earlier) < costume costume n. + -ier -ier suffix.
A person who makes or supplies costumes (in various senses); (now usually) a person who or company which sells or hires out theatrical costumes or fancy dress. Also: a person employed by a theatre or film company to supply, fit, and look after actors' costumes.
