Etymology: < Crip, referring to a member of an urban street gang (the Crips) that originated in Los Angeles, California in the late 1960s or early 1970s known for its violent rivalry with another street gang, the Bloods + walk n.1
U.S.
Originally: a display of footwork signifying membership of the urban street gang, the Crips. Later also: a dance featuring nimble footwork which resembles this.
