covenant theology n. Theology (chiefly in Calvinist thought) theology organized around the overarching idea of a biblical covenant or covenants between God and human beings, esp. the Covenant of Works and the Covenant of Grace (see sense 8a); cf. federal theology n. at federal adj. and n.
