A titanium and iron-containing mineral found as black rhombohedral crystals.Crichtonite is an oxide of titanium, iron, and manganese with some rare earth elements; (Sr,La,Ce,Y)(Ti,Fe³⁺, Mn)₂₁O₃₈. Crystal system: trigonal. Formerly thought to be identical to ilmenite; cf. mohsite n.
