Etymology: < medieval Latin Danubius, Danuvius, Greek Δανούβιος: see -ian suffix.
Of or pertaining to, bordering on, the river Danube, or pertaining to the prehistoric cultures of the surrounding region. Danubian principalities (Historical) the principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia, now forming part of Rumania. Danubian reed, the giant reed Arundo donax, cultivated in Australia.
