Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin decilis.
Etymology: < post-classical Latin decilis (1619 in Kepler) < classical Latin decem ten (see decem- comb. form) + -īlis -il suffix, after post-classical Latin quintilis quintile n.2, sextilis sextile n. Compare earlier quartile n., quintile n.2, sextile n.
1. Astrology. The aspect of two planets which are one tenth of a circle (36 degrees) apart in the sky.
