Etymology: < post-classical Latin decimestris (a1540), variant of decemmestris (3rd cent.; < classical Latin decem ten (see decem- comb. form) + -mēstris (in e.g. trimēstris trimester n.)) + -al suffix1. N.E.D. (1894) gives the pronunciation as (desime·striăl) /dɛsɪˈmɛstrɪəl/.
Obsolete. rare.
Consisting of ten months.
