Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymons: Latin dēcircināt-, dēcircināre.
Etymology: < classical Latin dēcircināt-, past participial stem (see -ate suffix3) of dēcircināre to make rounded, to round off, in post-classical Latin also to bring (something) out of compass or roundness (e.g. in 16th-cent. Latin–English dictionaries) < dē- de- prefix + circināre circinate v.The post-classical Latin sense of classical Latin dēcircināre arose by reinterpretation of the prefix dē- as relating to the undoing or reversal of an action (compare de- prefix 1f).
Obsolete.
