Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: ambisexual adj., -ity suffix.
Etymology: < ambisexual adj. + -ity suffix. In sense 1 after German Ambisexualität (S. Ferenczi 1912, in Jahrb. für psychoanalytische und psychopathologische Forschungen 3 119, in the passage translated in quot. 1913). Compare earlier bisexuality n. With sense 2 compare also earlier intersexuality n.
