demonstration model n. (a) a model which is built for the sole purpose of demonstrating the function, performance, etc., of something; (b) a product (esp. a car or other vehicle) which can be tested by prospective buyers, and which may be sold at a reduced price after fulfilling this function for a time; cf. demo n.² 2a, demonstrator n. 3c.
