1953 M. Critchley Parietal Lobes iv. 137 Grainger Stewart (1894) wrote of ‘allachaesthesia’, referring to minor errors of localization.

1976 Virginia Med. Monthly 103 280/1 The phenomenon of allachaesthesia, or the distant referral of sensation to other parts of the body from an analgesic area, was first observed by the author in a patient who had an analgesic right leg.

1991 Arch. Neurol. 48 546/1 He [sc. Stewart] noted that the displacements were different than allochiria and coined the term allachaesthesia (ie, allesthesia).
