Etymology: modern Botanical Latin; named in 1781 after J. Deutz of Amsterdam.
Botany.
A genus of shrubs (family Saxifragaceæ), natives of China and Japan, cultivated for the beauty of their white flowers. D. gracilis is a well-known spring flowerer.
