Each of a group of aphoristic prose texts in Sanskrit concerning law and rules of conduct. Chiefly in plural.The four principal Dhamasutras, probably composed between the 3rd and 1st centuries b.c., belong to the Āpastamba, Gautama, Baudhāyana, and Vasiṣṭha traditions.
