Etymology: < Hellenistic Greek διάβολοςdevil (see devil n.) + -ized suffix. Compare slightly earlier diabolizing adj. and slightly later diabolize v.
Rendered diabolical in nature or character, corrupted, made evil; (supposedly) possessed or influenced by a devil or the Devil; portrayed or represented as a devil; denounced as evil or wicked, esp. in an inaccurate or misrepresentative way.
