Etymology: < Old French desordené (modern désordonné ), past participle of desordener : see disordain v. and disordinate adj. The final é of Old French appears to have had a double fortune, becoming on the one side mute as in assign n.2, avowe n., on the other developing into -ee , -ie , -y as in assignee n., city n.: compare dishevel, dishevely.
Obsolete.
