Etymology: Shortened < allochemical adj. (compare quot. 1959).
Geology.
Any of various coarse particles (as skeletal fragments, ooliths, pellets, carbonate clasts, etc.) which have become incorporated in, and provide a framework for, certain mechanically deposited sedimentary rocks.
