Etymology: < Dresden, the name of a town in Saxony.
Used attributively or absol. to designate a variety of white porcelain made at Meissen near Dresden, or an object made of this, characterized by elaborate decoration and figure-pieces in delicate colourings. Hence (often attributive) used to designate anything of a delicate or frail prettiness.
